Getting Around
Malta has an extensive public bus network covering the whole island. The Tallinja card offers cheaper fares. Taxis, Bolt, and e-scooters are also widely available. Ferries connect Malta to Gozo every 30 minutes.
Best Time to Visit
Malta is beautiful year-round. Peak season is June–September (hot, busy). Spring (April–May) and autumn (October) offer the best balance of warm weather and smaller crowds. Winter is mild and ideal for culture-lovers.
Currency & Costs
Malta uses the Euro (€). It's generally affordable compared to Western Europe — a good restaurant meal costs €12–20. ATMs are plentiful. Most places accept card payments.
Language
Maltese and English are both official languages. You'll find English spoken everywhere, making Malta one of the easiest non-English-speaking countries to visit for British, Irish, and Australian travellers.
Connectivity
All EU mobile plans work in Malta. Local SIM cards from GO or Melita are cheap and offer great coverage. Free WiFi is available in most cafés, restaurants, and hotels. Our apartments all include fast fibre broadband.
