What is a Malta Festa? Village festas are the heartbeat of Maltese culture — spectacular celebrations honouring patron saints with elaborate church decorations, brass band marches, colourful fireworks and food stalls lining narrow streets. Almost every village holds its own festa, many celebrated for over 200 years. Most festas are completely free and run Thursday to Sunday. The fireworks alone are world-class — Malta is internationally renowned for its pyrotechnic artistry. Dates marked ★ are unmissable highlights.
